We’re excited to share an update on the Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP) for Iowa’s volunteer firefighters.
LOSAP stands for Length of Service Award Program. It's a program designed to reward and recognize the dedicated service of volunteer firefighters, emergency medical services (EMS) and Reserve Police Officer personnel.
Don’t forget to join us at this years Mid-Year Meeting on Saturday, March 21! The meeting will be at the Hyatt Regency in Coralville, IA.

Mark your calendars now – the dates for the 2024 fair will be August 8th- 18th. We need volunteers to staff the booth in 4 hour shifts each day.
Shifts are 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. and 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The IFA Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Adam Kutz, of the Storm Lake Fire Department, was elected as the new 5th Vice President of the Iowa Firefighters Association during our convention meeting earlier this September.
Please read email below and the attachment. We are being heard by OSHA but the fight is not over, OSHA is recognizing our concerns but nothing has been voted on. We still will go through the hearing on November 12th and we have Representatives scheduled to testify at this hearing.
The Iowa Firefighter Association (IFA) is a non-profit association that was organized in 1879. It represents and advocates for the improvement of the Iowa Fire Service to improve protection of the public in our communities. We do this through legislation, better training, minimum standards for apparatus and equipment, fire prevention, public relations, and information programs.
